Verdict

The absence of Sea Moon is a blow to the racecourse, sponsors and racegoers alike but won't overly concern the connections of BROWN PANTHER whose colt finished in front of Sir Michael Stoute's charge in last year's St Leger at Doncaster. The soft ground will hold no fears for Tom Dascombe's stable star of famous ownership and the son of Shirocco looks set for another good season and can take this. Memphis Tennessee was fourth in the Epsom Derby and third in the Irish Derby last year so is clearly very useful and won't be far away if lasting home on the ground and is preferred to the mare Vivacious Vivienne of the others.
