Verdict

Sam D'Oc was pulled up in the race won by Sycho Fred at Sedgefield in his only start to date over fences and is 7lb higher here. The latter has also won at this track recently and should go well again but it's difficult to recommend Normally after three poor runs in a row while Whiskey Ridge sports blinkers back over the larger obstacles, though was second over 3m1f at the track in February. ROI DE GARDE is still a maiden under Rules but chased home the progressive Huckleberry at Towcester in March and races off the same mark here. He gets the nod even though regular partner Tom Messenger rides Ifonlyalfie instead.
