Verdict

ASSIZES only had to be pushed out to win a Newbury maiden on his racecourse debut in October. The third franked the form next time and Mark Johnston's grey could be the answer to this tricky handicap, despite top weight. Trail Blaze finally got off the mark at Catterick last month but has more on his plate here while it's not certain the drop in distance will suit Clare Island Boy. There looks to be little to choose between Mick Channon's runners but Dance The Rain holds Mr Spiggott and Bountiful Girl on Ripon running and is probably the main danger to the selection.
