Verdict

Jim Boyle won this a year ago and Titus Bolt should find a race soon as he's consistent enough though possibly a couple of pounds high in the weights. Whinging Willie has dropped 8lb since making his handicap debut but hasn't looked any closer to losing his maiden tag but Surrey Dream made a promising comeback at Newbury and should go well. Golden Jubilee showed little in his first season but was always likely to do better as a three-year-old and goes on the short-list but White Flight never really got into contention at Lingfield and will need to do much better. SHOT IN THE DARK produced his best run on soft going last season and reappeared with a decent run at Bath last week, his first for six months. With that under his belt he can make a winning start to his career in handicaps.
