Verdict

TOMMYSTEEL beat the useful Highland Cathedral at Kelso on his debut under Rules and has the clear beating of Reland on a line through the runner-up. He should be capable of giving 4lb to Romany Ryme, though the latter has won his last two starts between the flags and is improving. Askalott and Some Lad have made little impression under Rules so far and will probably struggle to make an impact here.
