Verdict

CALL BACK sets the standard for the McCain and Maguire team and should be good enough after an excellent run behind the useful One Term at Aintree last term when the pair pulled miles clear of the third. An impressive Bangor winner in March when scoring with real authority, he is taken to concede 12lb to his obvious danger in Ivan Vasilevich. That 12lb includes Michael Byrne's 5lb claim on the Tim Vaughan contender, who made a pleasing transition to hurdles when a useful third on his Sedgefield debut. He was a very decent and consistent sort on the Flat and should be winning soon whatever his fate here. However, the selection's experience is taken to see him through. The pair look head and shoulders above the rest, of whom Oliver's Gold is nominated for the minor placing.
