Verdict

YORKSHIRE ICON was struggling to go the early pace at the halfway stage over 5f at Carlisle last time. He caught the eye running on for third in the closing stages and today's extra furlong could see him off the mark. Hitherto has ran a couple of modest races so far but this looks easier while Gold Beau was still beaten over nine lengths when fourth at Haydock on his debut. Fife Jo and Marabout are related to winners but Pour La Victoire is a half-brother to the Abernant Stakes runner-up Mullionmilesanhour and is worth keeping an eye on in the betting.
