Verdict

Behtarini got the better of Southway Star by more than four lengths at Newton Abbot on Tuesday and is back to his best. But he now has two penalties to carry and could struggle to complete the hat-trick. Le Grand Chene finally got off the mark at the 17th attempt at Fontwell but was a lucky winner, while Wicklewood has been beaten in sellers and John Flint's pair, Kapdor and Carhue Princess, are usually worth opposing. Ebony Diamond appears to be going backwards but there should be more to come from lightly-raced Warwick fifth TOREADOR and he gets a token vote.
