Verdict

Avonvalley scored in soft ground at Folkestone last time but steps up a grade today while First In Command, second at Ripon on Thursday, has been placed off his current mark on a couple of occasions since landing a double at Southwell in March. Comptonspirit is back on a winning mark and posted a better effort at Beverley recently while Red Roar carries a penalty for last Monday's success at Carlisle. The latter is weighted to confirm last season's running at Beverley with COOL IN THE SHADE but Paul Midgley's filly has shown a big improvement since then, winning three times. She'll have come on for her recent reappearance and gets the nod with a 7lb claimer helping her cause.
