Verdict

Basseterre had Assizes behind when third at Ayr last time and should make his presence felt if the going remains on the fast side. Alakhan is too inconsistent to recommend but Lord Aeryn is not easily dismissed despite a below-par effort at York last time. Wannabe King is another with claims if forgiven his latest poor effort in the Thirsk Hunt Cup but DON'T CALL ME makes most appeal. He went close at a big price when third in the Royal Hunt Cup at Ascot last time and will take all the beating with a similar effort in this company. Rakaan is useful at his best but it's been some time since he's shown that.
