Verdict

Swampfire reached a rating of 99 on the Flat and it's only a matter of time before he loses his maiden tag over timber judging on his run behind Miradene at Ballinrobe. Rodeo Rocket ran very well behind Discoteca at Gowran and the winner has scored again. He can make further progress and should be in the frame but it's TEPALO who gets the vote. Tony Martin's charge, the winner of a bumper in France last year, was sent over 2m5f on his debut for the yard at Perth and though unable to cope with Kris Cross the race will have done him good and he can go one better. The remainder need major improvement to take a hand.
