Verdict

Grade 2 winning hurdler Little Green hasn't had much experience on the Flat but is very well handicapped as a consequence and has to be on the short-list. Mellow Manner was brought with a late run to score over a mile here in May and though raised 6lb the longer trip will definitely suit and she can get competitive. Gothen Niece had shown only glimpses of form before almost pulling off a shock victory at Cork though whether she can repeat that with a 5lb rise is another matter. Catch Light produced her best run to date over this trip at Limerick though she never looked likely to win so a chance is taken with WALTER DE LA MARE. He's hardly the most prolific winner having a strike-rate of 2-21 on the Flat but he's generally competed at a higher level and Ricky Doyle's claim is a major bonus.
