VALLARTA's only poor run so far came when there was plenty of give in the ground at Salisbury. His latest third at Ascot came in an above-average maiden and Mick Channon's colt, who still holds an entry in Redcar's Two-Year-Old Trophy, can open his account here. Caramack was only beaten a head at Lingfield earlier this month and Richard Hughes prefers him to newcomer Carry On Clapping while Homage and Senator Bong are almost certain to improve on promising debuts. The former was only beaten a length-and-a-half behind Mutazamen at Newmarket while the latter was a two-length third to Chief Inspector at HQ last month. Correspondent may prove the pick of the newcomers as it's a little off-putting to see Don Marco wearing a hood on debut.
