Tight end Rob Gronkowski has signed a record $54m six-year deal with the New England Patriots.
The contract is the largest ever to be handed out to a player in his position and includes more than $18m in guaranteed money.
Gronkowski set a league record for tight ends with 17 touchdown catches last season - he pulled in 90 receptions for a record 1,327 yards.
The second round pick goes into training camp with a slight question mark over his head after having off-season surgery on his left ankle.
''He broke every record last year and it's just a remarkable story,'' Gronkowski's father Gord said.
''And you know, there in Arizona we didn't know if was going to play any more when he had his back surgery (in college). And now, it's a great story. He's out there now, everything's well and he's ripping it up.''
