Charlotte Kerwood: Missed out by a shot

Great Britain's shooters suffered more disappointment on day eight of the ISSF World Cup in London.

The hosts have yet to produce a finalist at the Olympic test event at the Royal Artillery Barracks, and the wait goes on after Charlotte Kerwood narrowly missed out in the women's trap.

The 25-year-old from East Sussex was just one shot short of qualifying for this afternoon's final with a three-round total of 67.

The gold medal went to European Champion Fatima Galvez of Spain, who overcame the strong winds and the challenge of Russian Elena Tkach, who took silver.

"I cope well with the wind," said Galvez after the medal ceremony.

"It hasn't been a big problem for me, as I am kind of used to it. I just hope it won't be the same at Games time."

Barbara Engleder of Germany won gold in the women's 50m rifle 3 positions event.
