Beth Tweddle boosted her chances of selection for London 2012 just six weeks after undergoing knee surgery by posting the highest scoring bars routine at Olympic trials.
The three-time world champion scored 15.450 on the apparatus - the only piece she competed on - in her first competition since she had keyhole surgery which ruled her out of the European Championships.
The 27-year-old later said on social networking site Twitter: "Nice to be back competing today with the girls after knee surgery just 6 weeks ago! Bars only for today."
Rebecca Tunney topped the women's individual all around with a score of 56.500 in the event at Pipers Vale, Ipswich, which is the second Olympic trial for the British gymnasts.
Niamh Rippon was the next highest Briton in fourth, just ahead of Imogen Cairns, Danusia Francis and Jenni Pinches.
Great Britain were competing against Finland and Spain, with GB (1) and GB (3) taking first and second place in the team event, with individual apparatus finals to be held tomorrow.
