British 800 metres runner Joe Thomas has revealed he will miss the Olympics through injury.
The 24-year-old Welsh athlete has been ruled out for the season with a stress fracture to his left shin.
Thomas, who won the UK indoor title in February, tweeted: "No Olympics or track season for me this year. A few lengthy battles with niggles has resulted in a stress fracture."
It may be 3 years away, but the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil have some issues to address, most notably the building of the Olympic golf course and budgets.
The IOC will meet in St Petersburg to consider 8 sports who are all trying to become Olympics sports in 2020. Wakeboarding is one of those trying to make the cut.
