Scott Weltz caused an upset by winning the 200-metre breaststroke at the US swimming trials to book his place at the Olympics.

The 25-year-old won in two minutes 9.01 seconds ahead of Clark Burckle, who will also go to London 2012, meaning favourites Eric Shanteau and Brendan Hansen, who had already made it through in the 100m, missed out.

Cammille Adams and Kathleen Hersey sealed their places on the team in the 200m butterfly, while Nathan Adrian and Cullen Jones were first and second in the 100m freestyle.
