The Boston Celtics did their best to throw it away, but in the end held on for a 93-91 overtime win over the Miami Heat to level their Eastern Conference final series at 2-2.
The Celtics led by 18 points with 1:31 to go in the first half, but by the end of the third quarter the gap was down to five.
The lead then changed hands throughout the fourth quarter, before LeBron James took the game to OT with a three-pointer with 37.5 seconds remaining.
In the end it was Boston's player of the series so far who won it as Rajon Rondo, who had 15 points and 15 assists, scored the last three points of the match on a lay-up and a free throw.
With Boston leading 92-91, James, who led Miami with 29 points, fouled out for the first time in his Heat career, and his side did not manager another point without him.
Paul Pierce poured in 23 points for Boston, while Kevin Garnett added 17 and grabbed 14 rebounds. The seven-game series returns to Miami on Tuesday.
