Phil Hughes threw six strong innings as the New York Yankees stretched their winning streak to seven with a 7-2 win over the Washington Nationals.

Hughes allowed one run on six hits, walking two and fanning nine, as his impressive turnaround in form continued.

Curtis Granderson drove in three on two hits, including a solo homer in the ninth.

Matt Moore and the Tampa Bay Rays bullpen combined to one-hit the Miami Marlins in an 11-0 win.

Moore allowed one hit and three walks on seven innings, while Ben Zobrist homered and Desmond Jennings drove in four.

Yu Darvish struck out 11 across eight innings of two-run ball as the Texas Rangers beat the Houston Astros 6-2.

David Murphy had two RBI and a pair of hits to lead the Rangers offence.

The Toronto Blue Jays beat the Philadelphia Phillies 3-0, the Atlanta Braves were 4-2 winners over the Baltimore Orioles and the Milwaukee Brewers saw off the Minnesota Twins 5-3.
