Tom Sykes: Set the pace in Spain

Britain's Tom Sykes broke the track record to earn his sixth pole position of the season ahead of the World Superbike races at Motorland Aragon in Spain.

The Kawasaki rider, who is currently third in the world championship standings, scorched around the circuit in one minute 56.552 seconds.

Aprilia Racing riders Max Biaggi, who leads the overall standings, and Eugene Laverty qualified in second and third respectively.

The front row for Sunday's two 20-lap races was completed by a second Briton in BMW rider Leon Haslam.
