Great Britain lost for the seventh match in a row on Monday - 78-74 to Spain - but coach Chris Finch was far from downbeat.

Joel Freeland led the way for GB with 15 points in Valladolid, with Mike Lenzly contributing 13 to continue his good run. However, it was not enough for the team to beat the EuroBasket champions.

But Finch was proud of the way his men performed.

"Spain are a world-class team and we played well in front of a large, loud Spanish crowd," he said.

"We need to make more plays down the stretch to win against teams of this calibre. From day one we planned to play the very best teams in our preparation period.

"Every team we have played so far is qualified for the Olympics. This will serve us well over the next month."
