Heat and Wildcats claim wins

Surrey Heat and Durham Wildcats edged thrilling games in the final pre-Christmas fixtures in the British Basketball League on Sunday.

Surrey managed to stay third in the table as a result of their 84-82 triumph over Sheffield, with Italian Sam Cricelli the man to thank as he racked up 23 points and rebounded eight times.

Ralph Bucci was the hero at the Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre, registering a triple-double of 10 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists as the Durham Wildcats sent the London Lions back to the capital with a 95-92 defeat to mull over.
