Scott Dureau: Will remain in France until 2015

Scott Dureau has ended speculation about his future by signing a new long-term deal with the Catalan Dragons.

Wigan were thought to have been eyeing Dureau as a replacement for Thomas Leuluai, who is returning to Auckland next season.

However the 25-year-old Australian, who has been a big success since joining the Dragons from Newcastle Knights, has agreed a three-year extension which will keep him in Perpignan until the end of 2015.

"The club is going forward, going better and better, and has improved a lot over the last two years," he said.

"I'm very happy to stay at the Dragons. I feel good here both on and off the field."

Dureau has scored 353 points in 36 appearances so far for the Catalans and was named in the Dream Team at the end of his first season in Super League.

"It's great news for the club and also for Scott," said Dragons coach Trent Robinson.

"Our improvement as a club has coincided with Scott's development as a player along with others in the playing group.

"This is a strong sign for the future of the club with one of the best half-backs in Super League committed to the continued development of himself and his investment in the French culture and young players has been evident since his arrival at the club.

"He is a great example for the future youth in France."
