Wigan coach Shaun Wane saw his side go top of the Stobart Super League with a 36-22 win over Hull KR but he was less than impressed with the performance.
Josh Charnley bagged a hat-trick, to take his season's tally to 18 tries in all competitions, in a personal haul of 20 points to set up the win.
Wigan led 26-0 before the half-hour and looked like running up a cricket score, but their concentration and intensity seemed to drop off after the break, losing the second half 16-12, to infuriate Wane.
The former front-rower said: "There were a few things that happened defensively in the first half that upset me and it got worse in the second half.
"Them scoring 22 points is very disappointing. But on the positive side we have had a disruptive week with the England boys being away and we've had a few injuries.
"Overall I am glad to be top of the comp. This is a good win over a full-strength Hull KR team but a few of our defensive errors have disappointed me.
"They won the second half and I don't take kindly to that. It is a dressing room of a losing team because they know our standards are higher than that.
"I would expect our team, if we got six sets on our own line, to defend them sets, it is as simple as that, and we did not do that today."
Wane went on to wish referee Phil Bentham a speedy recovery after the official was stretchered off with a suspected broken leg.
Wane added: "He just fell awkwardly and it is a shame he is a good bloke Phil. I like him. That is a first for me I have never seen that happen before. He was unlucky, he is a good referee and a nice fellow and I wish him all the best."
Hull KR coach Craig Sandercock blamed his side's poor start for the 36-22 defeat but cannot fault the effort in the second period.
The Australian said: "Wigan are a class side but they blew us off the park in the first 25 minutes. If you want to compete with all the top sides you cannot afford to give away so many penalties away in 20 minutes of footy.
"Those penalties killed us in the end and we need to work hard on that to put it right. In the end we were competitive but unfortunately it was too late.
"We have something to build on. We can score points and to put 22 points on the side at the top of the competition is really good, but it's the defence that let us down."
