Hunslet Hawks have signed Luke Menzies from Batley Bulldogs until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old prop forward has previously played for Hull KR and Dewsbury Rams, as well as a short spell at Oldham.

Director of rugby Darren Williams said: "Luke is a quality addition to the squad and he's certainly in great shape.

"He wasn't getting the game time he needed at Batley and we are grateful to the Bulldogs for allowing his release.

"He will add some punch to the forwards and at 23 he has a number of Championship games under his belt - without doubt his best years are in front of him.

"He realises that at this stage in his career he needs regular football and he will come into contention to make his debut in Sunday's home Championship fixture against Swinton Lions."
