YORK REMAIN BOTTOM

10th May 2012, 09:29pm

York remain rooted to the foot of the Co-operative Championship without a win after going down 25-18 at home to Sheffield Eagles on Thursday.

Two first-half tries from full-back Quentin Laulu-Togagae put the visitors in control but Knights scrum-half Ben Johnson pulled a try back and York drew level at 18-18 early in the second half thanks to tries from three-quarters James Ford and George Elliot.

Dominic Brambani then jinked his way over for the all-important try 14 minutes from the end and his half-back partner Simon Brown kicked his fourth conversion before sealing the win with a drop goal.

Both sides finished with 12 men after Jack Lee (York) and Misi Taulapapa (Sheffield) were sin-binned for fighting.
