Former England winger Mark Calderwood has signed for Championship One club Workington.
The 30-year-old former Leeds, Wigan and Hull favourite, who won the last of his nine England caps in the 2008 World Cup, has been out of the professional game since finishing a trial spell at London Broncos last season.
Town director Tony Boyd said: "It's not every day that a player of Mark's calibre becomes available.
"When we were alerted to his availability we moved quickly to secure his signature as we feel he will provide the experience and cutting-edge finishing which we will need as we move closer to the business end of this all-important season."
