Halifax opened up a three-point gap at the top of the Co-operative Championship with a 50-22 victory over Dewsbury at the Shay.

Winger Rob Worrincy scored two first-half tries to put the home side on their way to a sixth win in seven matches and halt Dewsbury's march up the table.

Prop Sam Barlow also scored two tries for Halifax while Liam Hood and Brad Singleton, who are both on loan from Leeds, were among the tryscorers for the Rams.

Defending champions Featherstone returned to winning ways with a 31-24 victory over second-placed Batley at Mount Pleasant.

Rovers led 20-6 at half-time thanks to two tries from Nathan Chappel and others from Matty Dale and Andy Bostock but the Bulldogs fought back to edge 24-20 in front with tries from Gareth Potts (2) and Keegan Hurst.

The visitors regained the lead after Greg Worthington and Anthony England scored tries while Andy Kain made sure with a late drop goal.

Gavin Dodd scored 22 points to help Swinton to a 38-12 victory over Hunslet at the South Leeds Stadium.

John Oakes' first-half try gave the Hawks hope of a second win of the season but former Warrington winger Kevin Penny's try just before half-time proved crucial and Martin Ainscough scored his second try in the second half to make sure of the Lions' third victory.

Hunslet's Joe McLocklan managed a consolation try two minutes from the end but there was still time for Dodd to complete his hat-trick, to go with his five goals.
