Championship club Halifax have signed prop forward Tony Tonks from Super League neighbours Huddersfield.
The 27-year-old joined Huddersfield from Featherstone at the start of the season but made only one substitute appearance before breaking his arm in a reserve match.
Tonks was given permission by the Giants to talk to other clubs and has signed a deal with Halifax to the end of the season, although he will not be eligible for the Northern Rail Cup final against his former club Featherstone on July 29.
"Tony's with us until the end of the season, with a view to a longer-term deal beyond that," said Halifax boss Karl Harrison, who first signed Tonks as a 16-year-old for Bradford Bulls.
