James Haskell: Was yellow carded for punching

Highlanders back-row James Haskell has been handed a three-match ban for striking an opponent during the 36-33 win over the Cheetahs.

The England international was yellow carded in Bloemfontein after punching Justin Downey, with the incident also placed on report.

Haskell pleaded to the incident - which saw Downey receive stitches in a cut above an eye - after appearing before judicial officer Mike Heron.

Haskell will now miss the Super Rugby encounters against the Sharks, the Hurricanes and the Bulls.
