Francois Louw: Is wanted back at the Stormers

The Stormers have confirmed they are in talks to sign Bath flanker Francois Louw on a short-term deal.

The Stormers are facing an injury crisis in the back-row, with Duane Vermeulen, Schalk Burger and Nick Koster among those sidelined.

That has forced the club to explore the possibility of bringing Louw back to Cape Town for at least four matches.

The 26-year-old came through the youth set-up at Western Province, making his Super Rugby for the Stormers in 2008.

However the South Africa left club at the end of last season after accepting a three-year deal at Bath.

"Nothing has been confirmed as yet, I can promise you that, but I can confirm that we have made an approach and are expecting to hear back from Bath shortly," coach Allister Coetzee told supersportcom.

"It will have to be soon because we play the Cheetahs on Saturday.

"Our initial request is for Francois to play the next four matches on loan, and then we will take it from there depending on where we stand with the loose-forward situation.

"Schalk is expected to play the first game after the June break, and Nick is also expected back then. It is only Duane who might come back a few weeks after that."
