James O'Connor: Ruled out of summer Tests

James O'Connor: Ruled out of summer Tests

Australia fly-half James O'Connor has been ruled out of the summer Tests with Wales and Scotland.

The Melbourne Rebels star has not recovered from a lacerated liver he suffered against the Waratahs on April 21.

The Rebels said that he must wait four weeks before returning to contact training, ruling him out of Australia's match against Scotland on June 3 in Newcastle, and a three-Test series against Wales finishing on June 23.

O'Connor tweeted after receiving results of the scan: "Disappointing result - liver healing very nicely, just going to run out of time...if only I had a couple more weeks up my sleeve."
