Isaia Toeava: Has signed a two-year deal with Canon Eagles

New Zealand international Isaia Toeava has become the latest player to move to Japan - with the 26-year-old agreeing a two-year deal with Canon Eagles.

He will part company with the Blues at the end of the current Super Rugby campaign to move to Tokyo.

Toeava, who won 38 caps for the All Blacks, is currently sidelined after surgery on his hip - but he is relishing his new challenge.

"I want to thank the people who have helped me along the way in my rugby career," said Toeava.

"From school days through to now, I am very grateful for the opportunities I have been given at Auckland Rugby, the Blues and the All Blacks and the people who showed faith in me.

"But now I am ready for a new adventure and even though it's hard to leave behind friends and family, I am excited about the chance to experience a different culture playing rugby in a new country."
