Anne Keothavong continued her fine form at the Qatar Total Open by beating world number 47 Tamira Paszek in the first round in Doha on Monday.
The British number two saw off compatriots Laura Robson and Heather Watson to qualify for the main draw and showed good battling qualities to come from behind in both sets and triumph 7-6 (7/4) 7-6 (7/5).
Paszek was part of the Austrian Fed Cup team beaten by Great Britain last weekend, with Keothavong's team-mate Elena Baltacha gaining her first victory over the top-50 player.
