
Top seed Sara Errani wasted no time reaching the second round of the Budapest Grand Prix on Tuesday as the Italian outclassed Holland's Mandy Minella 6-1 6-1 in just 66 minutes.
In complete contrast second seed Ksenia Pervak of Kazakhstan needed three hours and one minute to overcome Russia's Vera Dushevina 6-1 5-7 7-6 (8-6).
Romanian eighth seed Irina-Camelia Begu was beaten 6-4 5-7 6-3 by Italy's Alberta Brianti but another Romanian advanced with Alexandra Cadantu defeating Slovakia's Magdalena Rybarikova 6-2 6-1.
Barbora Zahlavova Strycova beat Bosnian qualifier Jasmina Tinjic, who retired at 1-6 6-3 in her opponent's favour, while there were also wins for Akgul Amanmuradova and Su-Wei Hsieh.
