Marin Cilic: Reached Munich final

Marin Cilic: Reached Munich final

Former top-10 player Marin Cilic reached his first final of the season at the BMW Open in Munich, where he will face home hope Philipp Kohlschreiber.

Croatian Cilic, who is looking for his first clay-court title, ended the run of German wild card Tommy Haas in the semi-finals with a 6-3 6-4 victory.

Veteran Haas, 34, has had a brilliant week, knocking out top seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the second round, but he could make no impression on his 23-year-old opponent's serve.

Cilic told www.atpworldtour.com: "It was my best match of the week. I played and served extremely well. I believe he didn't reach deuce on my serve.

"I waited for my chances on return. Tommy played really well this week and I went into the match with thoughts of that. I'm playing well and feeling good, so hopefully I'm going to continue to play like this."

Kohlschreiber, the title winner in 2007, had a tougher time against second seed Feliciano Lopez before coming through 6-2 6-7 (4/7) 6-4.
