Francesca Schiavone: Dropped three games

Former French Open champion Francesca Schiavone moved seamlessly through to the semi-finals of the Strasbourg International with a 6-0 6-3 win over Sweden's Johanna Larsson.

The second-seeded Italian was in total control of the match from the start, breaking her opponent three times in succession to take the first set and wrapping up the match in just 65 minutes.

Schiavone will play unseeded American Sloane Stephens in the last four after the 19-year-old made her first WTA Tour semi-final with a 6-3 6-4, 79-minute win over Japan's Ayumi Morita.

Wild card Alize Cornet saw off fourth seed Anabel Medina Garrigues 7-6 (7-2) 7-6 (7-5) to book an all-French clash with Pauline Parmentier, whose fine week got better with a 6-3 6-3 win over Russian qualifier Alexandra Panova.
