RAIN LIMITS PLAY IN AUSTRIA

11th June 2012, 10:18pm

Julia Goerges: Top seed

Julia Goerges: Top seed

The inclement weather washed out any hopes of significant action in the main draw on day one of the Gastein Ladies in Austria.

No matches were completed due to persistent rain in Bad Gastein although Luxembourg's Mandy Minella took the first set against Ajla Tomljanovic of Croatia 6-3 and was 4-3 up in the second.

Top seed Julia Goerges is the only former champion in the draw, the world number 25 won the event in 2010, but fifth-seeded Petra Martic has reason to be confident after reaching the fourth round of the French Open - her best grand slam showing to date.
