Andy Murray: Seeking more grasscourt matches

Andy Murray will play two matches at The Boodles exhibition event next week to fine-tune his Wimbledon preparations.

Murray suffered a shock defeat to Nicolas Mahut in his opening match of the AEGON Championships at Queen's Club this week, leaving him short of grasscourt match practice ahead of Wimbledon, which starts on June 25.

The British number one, who has previously used the tournament to warm-up for the action in SW19, said: "I'm looking forward to playing The Boodles again to get some good matches on grasscourts before Wimbledon."

Organisers of The Boodles, which takes place at Stoke Park in Buckinghamshire, have announced that Murray will play matches on Wednesday and Thursday. Opponents have yet to be named.

The news ends speculation that Murray could request a wild card into next week's AEGON International in Eastbourne to get more matches under his belt.

The Stoke Park event gets under way on Tuesday when top-10 star Janko Tipsarevic will be among the players in action.
