Monfils: Misses Wimbledon

Gael Monfils has withdrawn from Wimbledon because of a knee injury, tournament organisers have confirmed.

The Frenchman, who is ranked 15th in the world, also missed last month's French Open because of the problem.

Monfils has never gone beyond the third round at the All England Championships.

Holland's Michaella Krajicek has also pulled out of the women's draw through illness.
