Former Wimbledon champion Amelie Mauresmo has been named France's new Fed Cup captain.
The former world number one, who also won the Australian Open during her playing career, was appointed by the French Tennis Federation on Thursday afternoon.
Mauresmo, who played in 21 Fed Cup ties for her country before retiring in 2009, replaces Nicolas Escude in the role.
One interesting decision the 33-year-old will have to make is whether to recall French number one Marion Bartoli to the team.
The world number 10 fell out with Escude over the role her coach - who is also her father - should play with regard to preparing for Fed Cup ties.
Mauresmo's first tie in charge of the team will be in February when France host Germany in ther first round of World Group II.
